Lady Taverners' Summer Luncheon to help disadvantaged children

The GH party at the Lady Taverners' summer Luncheon

We were delighted to sponsor the 16th Lady Taverners’ Summer Luncheon, held at the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. Gaby Hardwicke’s Cara Sheppard, Melanie Verth, Daniela Catuara, Nicole Byrne and Cathy Allen attended.

The event started with a welcome address from Laura Collins, Chair of Kent & East Sussex Lady Taverners, followed by grace said by Gaby Hardwicke Partner Melanie Verth. After lunch, Master of Ceremonies Bob ‘The Cat’ Bevan MBE regaled the gathering with his amusing repartee, and musical act The Flicks kept them entertained with a movie-themed song and dance routine. The luncheon’s raffle raised £7,000 for the Lord’s Taverners charity.

Taverners mark 14 years of GH sponsorship

Ahead of the luncheon, the Lord’s and Lady Taverners marked 14 years of support and sponsorship from Gaby Hardwicke by donating a minibus in the firm’s name to the Chailey Heritage Foundation, a charity for children and young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs.

Gaby Hardwicke Managing Partner, David Getty, said: “It’s typically kind and thoughtful of the Taverners to mark our sponsorship by an act of generosity. We’ve been honoured to be associated with such a good cause over so many years, and look forward to the association continuing for many years to come.”

The Lord’s Taverners is the official charity of UK recreational cricket and exists to ‘give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance’. It helps disadvantaged children to participate in a wide range of sports and leisure activities. For more information visit the Lord’s Taverners website.
