Away from the office

Italian Job sculptureDavid Getty, Head of Commercial Law Services at Gaby Hardwicke, attended the opening of a highly unusual art exhibit at Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion. The piece, entitled ‘Hang On A Minute Lads, I’ve Got A Great Idea’, recreates the last scene of the 1969 film The Italian Job with a life-sized coached balanced on the edge of the De La Warr Pavilion’s roof.

The sculpture, which was conceived by the artist Richard Wilson as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, is part-funded by comedian, actor and writer Eddie Izzard, who is Honorary Patron of the De La Warr Pavilion. Since its installation (by crane) the exhibit has attracted widespread national press coverage and visitors from across the country.

David Getty, who attended the opening in the capacity of a trustee of the De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust, is pictured above (second from left) with his fellow trustees. He commented: “Gaby Hardwicke has been associated with the De La Warr Pavilion for many years. Being a trustee is both interesting and highly enjoyable, and we as a firm are pleased to support such a successful organisation whose reputation is growing all the time.”

The sculpture will remain in place until October.
