Guidance on Companies House confirmation statements

Law books

Companies House has issued guidance on the recently introduced confirmation statement, which has replaced the annual return for UK-registered companies.

Every company must send Companies House a confirmation statement at least once a year, even if the company is dormant. Directors, secretaries and those who act as advisors to UK-registered companies should read the guide before completing their confirmation statement.

It provides help with:

  • The people with significant control (PSC) register.
  • Share capital.
  • Company registers.
  • Legacy filings – the annual return.
  • Filing documents in other languages (permitted exceptions).
