Gaby Hardwicke’s Corporate Team kicked off 2026 in acting for Mike and Debbie Walker in the sale of liquid waste management business CountyClean Group for an undisclosed sum.

CountyClean was acquired by specialist engineering services provider, Ipsum Group, expanding their existing water portfolio by bringing CountyClean’s specialist liquid waste management expertise into Ipsum’s customer base.

CountyClean Group was established in May 2007 by husband-and-wife team, Mike and Debbie Walker, and has grown into a leading provider of liquid management services across London and the South.

Ipsum is a leading provider of engineering services in the Power, Water, Infrastructure and Telecoms sectors. It works in partnership with customers across regulated and non-regulated environments to optimise asset performance, supporting the security and resilience of critical networks.

Mark Williams, Corporate Finance Partner at Gaby Hardwicke, said “We are delighted to have supported Mike and Debbie in the sale to Ipsum which marks an exciting step in CountyClean’s growth journey.  Combining CountyClean’s capabilities and expertise with Ipsum’s wider range of services and customers creates new opportunities for both parties and their customers.  Gaby Hardwicke are proud to have worked alongside everyone involved in bringing the deal to a successful conclusion.

Mike Walker said “I would like to thank Mark Williams and his team for their outstanding hard work and commitment throughout this transaction. Working to tight and challenging timelines was never going to be easy, yet they navigated the process with professionalism, clarity and calm assurance. Their guidance and steady management of expectations were invaluable during challenging moments.”

The late nights, long days and weekend dedication ensured deadlines were met and delivered certainty we could only have hoped for. We would not hesitate to recommend Gaby Hardwicke, Mark Williams and his excellent team. Special thanks to Thomas Goodenough, Christiana McKeown and Chloe Risby.
