Consultant Solicitor, Corporate Transactions and Commercial Contracts
Alan is a Consultant Solicitor in the Corporate Finance and Commercial Contracts team.
He qualified as a solicitor in 1993 after obtaining an honours law degree from the University of London. Since qualifying, Alan has built up more than 25 years’ experience advising businesses, owners and investors on corporate finance and commercial matters.
Alan advises on business sales and acquisitions, corporate governance, restructures and complex shareholder arrangements. He has particular experience acting for serial acquirers pursuing buy-and-build strategies through to exit, as well as advising owner-managed businesses on exit planning and eventual sale, including transactions involving private equity.
He works with clients across a broad range of sectors, with particular expertise in the insurance, telecoms and IT sectors.
Notable experience includes acting for a leading telecoms & IT provider on more than ten acquisitions over a number of years, alongside advising other clients operating in the same sector.
Alan has also advised an insurance broker on more than ten acquisitions, including advice on an initial partial exit and a later further exit.

Outside work, Alan keeps pet goats and enjoys collecting and riding bicycles, as well as classic Land Rovers.
